The sharpest advance In wheat values on any single day accompanted reports that the crop damage area in | Argentna was spreading from the north Into the central section of the country and was threatening the south. Black rust was reported both | from central Argentina and the north, | with unfavorable weather conditions much of the time for all three zones, including some frost in the south. According to one report, Argentine wheat had suffered in one week | 18,000,000 bushels loss, a shrinkage made worse by the fact that European buyers this season have been depend- ing to an unusual extent on the out- Special significance was attached in some quarters to the greater rapldity of price advances for wheat at Liver- pool than at Ghicago. This was par- ticularly the case when, near the end of the week, the Liverpool market had reached a substantial premium as compared with Chicago, although re- cently Liverpool quotations were at a big discount.
