John Edwin Wells, 48 years old, for several years an employe of the navy yard here and prominent in local sonic circles, died at George Wash- 3 Hospital Sunday, i Ir. Wells had lived in Los Angeles in recent years and came to Washing- ton about three weeks ago for an operation. The body, accompanied by his widow, was started on the way last night to Los Angeles, where funeral services will be held. Mr. Wells was a member of the drill _teams of Orient Commandery, No. 5, Knights Templar and of the Almas Temple of the Mystic Shrine. He is survived by his widow and three children, all of Los Angeles, and a brother, R. Eugene Wells, of Wash- ington. MRS. ELLEN L.
