By the Associated Press, NEW HAVEN, Conn., September 25.—Yale College will abandon daily compulsory chapgl this year after a century of the traditional services, Frederic S. Jones, dean of Yale Col lege, announced yesterday. The increasing number of under- graduates in the sophomore, junior and senior classes has finally exceed- ed the limit of capacity of Battell Chapel. These men will be divided into two groups, one attending on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and the other on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, with the groups attending the hour service on Sunday alternate weeks. The daily schedule will also be alternated so the privilege of the urday vacation will be divided.
