16 CHARGE CONSPIRACY "IN DRY LAW ARRESTS Four Persons in Custody and Two Automobiles Seized—114 Quarts Corn Liquor Captured. Four alleged conspirators against the prohibition laws were arrested last night and two automobiles were seized by the flying squadron of dry raiders under Capt. Guy Burlingame in the antiliquor sade being waged under Commissioner Fenning's | orders. The conspiracy involves a =umber of angles. . the flying | squadron commander states, arrest | was difficult because of an evasive | system employed. This included the reception of cash and orders at one | and the delivery of liquor warehouse some 20 blocks The dry squadron made two pur- chases, it is alleged, at 2131 L street, giving a $5 and a $20 bill, both marked, for the consignment. The liquor is alleged to have been de- livered by men operating from 2104 Flagler place, 20 blocks or more away from the first address. After the liquor was delivered search warrants for both addresses were obtained. At the L street house the marked money is alleged to have been recovered after the arrest of Everett Allison Wormley and his wife, Carrie Worm- ley, on charges of sale, transportation and illegal possession of liquor and conspiracy to break the prohibition laws. At the Flagler residence Ber- nard Thornton Brown and Earl Aloy- sius Douglas were arrested on similar charges and the automobile alleged to have been used for delivery purposes seized, together with 114 quarts of corn liquor and 3 onehalf gallon containers of the same. All of the prisoners are colored. The flying squadron second automobile last Maurice Alfred Ros 24, of Baltimore, Md., was ulleged to have been making deliveries of intoxicants on Pennsylvania avenue southeast between Seventeenth and I streets. He was charged w portation and a 13 -gallon container of alleged liquor was found in his automobile. seized the while | An airplane plant and an automo- bile factory are to be opened in Czecho- slovakia.
