FAMOUS "FOR The Shops for the Baby and ‘“Tots-to-Teens” Of All the Departments in the Greater Lansburgh & Bro. Store the Cne Perhaps of Which We Are the Most Proud Are THE SHOPS FOR THE BABY AND TOTS-TO-TEENS on the Fourth Floor. UR special pride in this department is based on the fact that while this store has long been renowned for its yard goods and ready-to-wear apparel, its fame as the headquarters for the Stork and the rlace of preference ®f TOTS AND TEENS is comparatively recent. This department, believed to be the largest devoted exclusively to youngsters in any store in Washington, is finished in ivory and all of its appointments and displays sugges- ting a nursery. The casual visitor might think that the ar- rangement of the merchandise here has no special significance, but every piece of goods has its place and every place has its piece of goods. Here we cater to the needs of babies from birth to two years of age; tots, from two to six; girls from six to fourteen, and junior misses from fourteen to seventeen. The merchandise for each of these four groups is arranged in a special part of this big department and the saleswomen are all skilled in assisting mothers in selecting just the proper thing at the right price. The Babies' Section is presided over by a graduate nurse ready to give mothers the benefit of her expert advice. This depart- ment is equipped to supply everything that may be needed, including weighing the baby, suggesting the diet, advising as to the care of dress, providing layettes, blankets, robes, cribs, chairs, carriages and go-carts. This department is directed by an efficient manager, conversant with all the problems confronting motherhood. She has stocked her department with all of the many little things so necessary to the comfort of baby, including millinery, lingerie, rompers, dresses, coats, hand-painted combs and brushes, deco- rated hat boxes, toilet needs, and baby books. The toggery for tots is wide in its range and complete in assortment. Here we keep abreast of the latest style for the Miss or Mister from two to six—the so-called cutest age of children and the time when they begin to “strut their stuff’” and become finicky about their clothing. We can meet the most exacting juvenile requirements. We know they are particular at this age and we have taken particular pains to be particular about supplying their needs. The selection of the child’s first school clothes is a momentous affair for mothers and we have done every- thing we could think of to simplify her task f i and aid her in getting just the right apparel of the proper durability and style at the fitting price. No establishment in Washington gives more thought to providing stylish, quality ready-to- wear for girls between six and fourteen or for junior misses up to seventeen than the Greater Lansburgh & Bro. Store. We realize that clothing children of this age “be- gins to run into money,” and we make it a point to provide the most stylish and attrac- tive dresses and coats, for school wear, play and dress-up occasions that, the market affords. With QUALITY always the domi- nant note. . Here the junior misses will find everything in the way of style and fabric that is pro- vided for their big sisters or adults. On racks and tables and in cases are displayed the latest vogues for girls, and the models, fabrics and styles offer as great a range for selection as is provided for the grown-ups elsewhere in the Greater Lansburgh & Bro. Store. The dresses for day wear, sport wear and the party frocks are all that the youthful heart could wish for, and girls who supply their wardrobe from this department may rest assured that the salesperson will not let them leave the store with anything that is un- becoming to them. The Tots-to-Teens Department is adjacent to Toyland on the fourth floor. This wonder- land is presided over by Santa Claus and Mrs. Santa Claus during the Christmas season. . .. Illustrative of the thoroughness of ° the Greater Lansburgh & Bro. Store, we have a four-chair BOBBER SHOP on the fourth floor, thus showing the feminine youth of the day that we are prepared to take care of them from the time of their first rattler or baby ring until they grow up and become indepen- - ent enough to shed their “crowning glory.” Also on this floor we have our ART SHOP AND EMBROIDERY DEPARTMENT, where all the requirements for fancy work can be filled. Many mothers find it conven- ient to purchase stamped dresses for their children here and spend their leisure hours embroidering them to suit their tastes. We don’t mind telling you this was written by a man and that in our TOTS-TO-TEENS Department the visiting mother probably would find at least a thousand things of vital importance not alluded to *here. At all events, if you want something for the baby,. the tot or the teen, you can bet all the tea in China that we have it on the Fourth Floor. I This is the fourth of a series of articles written to acquaint\_ ' the pubiic with the features, facilities and resources of the Greater Lansburgh & Bro. Store.
