US CHACONAS, crack miler, has been elected captain of Central High School's track team for next season, and 13 members of the squad have been awarded “Cs.” The letters were presented today at the weekly assembly period. The coveted monogram also was given to five players and the man- ager of the basket ball team that brought the 1925 court championship to Central and was runner-up in the University of Pennsylvania tournament. In electing Chaconas to lead the track and field squad next year the Central athletes have picked their star performer of the season just closed and one who is likely to add to his laurels in 1925, Conceded to be the leading miler of ] 100 and 220 yard dashes, the 220 low schoolboy ranks hereabouts, Chaconas | hurdles, the high jump, pole vault, has won five out of nix starts in re-|half-mile relay, broad jump and cent competition and on one occasion, | 8-:pound shotput the “C” Club meet, came within three seconds of tying the scholastic record set by Gross of Tech.
