SOCIETY. President and Mrs. Coolidge Giving Garden Party for Veterans in Local Hospitals. HE President and Mrs. Cool idge are devoting themselves this afternoon from 4 o'clock to a later hour to the Vet- erans of the World War in Washington Hospitals, men from Mount Alto, Walter Reed, St. Eliz- abeth’s and the Naval Hospital will come in ambulances, private con- veyances and otherwise, and there will be refreshments served to them after they are received by the Pres- ident and Mrs. Coolidge. There will be a specially arranged program from the Marine Band Added to the list of veterans who are guests of honor there will be the Secretary of Navy and Mrs. Wilbur and such other membere of the cabi- net and their wives as are in the city: the As nt and the Assistant Secre officlals from the Vetes and officlals and those attending the patients from the hospitals, repre- sentatives of such veterans’ orzani- rations as are officially recognized by the Veterans' Bureau and a few others whose duties are in some way connected to the care of the guests of honor. The Ambassador of Spaln and Senora de Riano will entertain a com- peny of 30 at dinner this evening Mme. Matsudaira Honor Guest at Afternoon Tea. Mme. Matsudaira, wite of the Am bassador of Japan, will be the guest of honor at tea this afternoon of Mme. Kazeml, wife of the charge d'affaires of Persla, who will enter %ain from 5 to 7 o'clock in the lega tion on Sixteenth street. Presiding at the tea table will be Mme. Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Kauffmann will be hosts at a garden party Sat- urday afternoon at Airlie. She is carrying bride roses with a shower of lilies of the valley. Mr. Richard Small is best man for his brother. At the reception Mr. and Mrs. Mil- ler, parents of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Small, parents of the bridegroom, will receive with them Mrs. Miller's gown is of orchid georgette crepe and Mrs. Small has a dress of dark blue crepe de chine, heavily beaded in beads of the same color. Later in the day Mr. Small and his bride will leave for a wedding trip, the latter traveling in an ensemble suit of brown and green, with a small hat to match.
