ORLEANS, France, March 2.—Louls Lafaure, a canal boat deckhand, re- cently arrested on a murder charge, has confessed, according to the po- lice, to having assassinated an Amer- lcan sergeant, Harvey Geary, near the Beauvolr camp on Juiy 16, 1319. Geary's body was found by American soldlers in a canal near the camp. Lafaure is sald to have told the po- lice that he used a pitchfork as a weapon, but he denics having stolen the 1,500 francs Geary was known to have had on.his person.
