'Last car westbound on Pennsyl- vania, avenue will clear Peace Monu- ment at 10:23 am. B. Last car eastbound on Pennsyl- ania avenue will clear Fifteenth stret and New York avemue at 10:33 agm. C. The Capital Traction Co. will resume operation of street cars on Pennsylwania avenue, Fifteenth street, First strget and B street after the presidential party has cleared the Peace Mowument en route to the United Staites Capitol. Cars to Be Suspended. Such stredt car traffic will again be suspended a¢ 12 o'clock noon, pro- vided, howewer, that through street car traffic oy Pennsylvanla avenue between Fiftacnth and Seventeenth streets may comtinue until such time as the presidemtial party leaves the Capitol on its return to the White House. The Capital Nraction Co. is hereby granted permlsa}fln during the period of suspension of street car trafic to bank its cars on (1) First street south of Maryland avemue southwest: (3) First street north of B street north- west; (3) B stree¢ southwest from First street to South Capitol street. D. North and southbound street car traffic on Seventh, Ninth and Four- teenth streets will be permitted to cross Pennsylvania avenue until 10:45 a.m., and will resume service after the presidential party has passed and will continue such service until such time as the presidential party leaves the Capitol on its return to the White House, at which time such cross- traffic will be suspended until after the last unit of the parade columm has passed two squares west of a given point. E. Bus lines whose routes touch any part of the parade route will be diverted from such route from 10:15 am. until barricades on parade route are down. The Pennsylvania avenue busses of the Washington Rapid Transit Co. will move south an Thirteenth street to F street, east on F street to Twelfth street and north on Twelfth street, and the commmanding officer of the first precinct will see that both Thirteenth and F and Twelfth and F streets are posted dsring the time of such diversion of route. Carries 50,000 More in February Tahn in January. The Washington Rapid Transit Co. earried 0,000 more passengers in February than in January, according to a report made to the Public Utilities Commission today. The larger type busses, including four doubleldeckers, were placed in service February 1, and officials be- lieve the lmprovemem in equipment brought about the increase in riding. The figures are: For January (31 days), 346,837 passengers; February (28 days), 397,014 passengers. In January, 1924, ‘the company trans- ported 354,615 persons, while in Feb- ruary, 1924, only 341,526 rode on the transit busses. PRESIDENT LIKELY TOSIGN PAY RAISE Has Given No Hmt of Disap- proval of Congress Action in Increasing Salaries. There was no end of speculation on the part of frequenters of the White House office today regarding probable action President Coolidge will take regarding the legislative appropriation bill, which carries sal- ary increases for Senators, Repre- sentatives and members of the cab- inet.
