However, the makers of these new frocks have shown the acme of cleverness in subduing any bizarre effect. For instance, the model shown above at the left is of a red crepe, with black polka dots for the ground design and immense spots, also black, forming a border; the effect, nevertheless, is very smart. It is the same with the ensemble dress, which is of black crepe, with the vest or dress part of a novel black and white design, with the lining of the coat and scarf of a crepe in the same design as the dress part, but of gypsy red, combining smartness with good taste.
