An agreement on Senate amendments to the bill for stimulation of the pro- duction of helium was reached yesterday by House and Senate conferees. Chair- man Wadsworth of the Senate military committee sought to have the confer- ence report agreed to in the Senate, but Senator Walsh Democrat, Massachu- setts, objected until he could have time to study it. Under the measure as approved by the conferees an embargo on the export of the non-inflammable gas for lighter- than-air craft would be established, and control of production and distribution would be vested in the Interjor Depart- ment. COMMISSION TO ADJUST PUBLIC LAND TRANSFERS Secretary Work Arranges for Super- vision of Transactions in Matter of Recreational Spaces. Appointment of a commission to supervise and pass on the transfer of public_lands between the National Park Service and the Forest Service and other matters relating to the control of public lands for recrea- tional purposes was announced ves- terday by Secretary Work.
