Mr. Byrns contended that the United States must expend more money in fostering its foreign com- maerce to meet the efforts of Euro- pean nations to regain the trade they had before the World War. Students of the Spanish classes of Armstrong Manual Training School. under the supervision of H. B. Wallacs, instructor, held an Exibicion Espanola in the library last week. Photographs, illustrated scrap books, objects of art and varlous devices in 1se in Spanish-speaking countries swere shown. The countries repre- sented were the Philippines, Mexico, Porto Rico, South America and Spain. Sr. Bayo of the Spanish embassy sontributed largely to the Spanish table. Assisting Mr. Wallace were Rebecca Arthur, Marguerite Berry, Olivia Richardson, Esther Simms, Gladys Gilbert, George Barringer, John McCoy, Jeannette Goff and 3ladys Randolph. Othello Branson was elected captain of next year's foot ball team at the annual foot ball social tendered by the athletic committee to the team. The success of the entertainment was Aue to the efforts of P. A. Roy, Ben- jamin Washington and E. P. West- moreland. Membbrs of the faculty were the guests of the combined senior classes on the occasion of the “at home” ¥riday in the gymnasium.
