C. DR. W. A. ECKELS DIES, TAUGHT AT CENTRAL Instructor of Latin in High School Succumbs to Month's Illness in Home. Dr. William A. Eckels, 60 years old, a teacher of Latin in the Centrall: High School for the last eight years and connectéd with the public school | system of the District of Columbia for 11 years, died at his home, 701 Shepherd street, early today after a month's illness. Death was due to heart disease. Dr. Eckels was born in Cumberland County, Pa. He received his early and later at Lafayette University. Coming to this city, he taught at ‘Western High School for three years before being transferred to Central. Classical Club Member. Dr. Eckels was a member of the| executive committee of the Classical Club here. He was also a member of the Mount Pleasant Congregational Church, Dr. Eckels s survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Eckels; a son. Mark Eckels, a student at Oberlin College, Ohlo; a daughter, Miss Jean Eckels, a student at Central High School; two brothers, John C. Eckels of Carlisle, Pa., and | Rev. Charles E. Eckels, a missionary at Nan, Slam, and a sister, Miss { Cynthia Eckels of Carlisle, Pa. Funeral services will be conducted at the Mount Pleasant Congregational Church tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clodk. Rev. Dr. Walter A. Morgan, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Carlisle, P: PLAN FASHION REVIEW. Local Sorority to Hold Benefit Af- fair. The four Washington chapters of Sigma Epsilon Sorority will hold a fzshion review and dance in the main ballroom of Wardman Park next Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock for the benefit of orphans in the District.
