CHICAGO, October 17.—Ten men, said by Governthent agents to have headed an organization which imported liquor from Cuba to Florida by air- plane and distributed it throughout the Middle West, have been arrested here. P. David Pinkhussohn, aliezed head of the syndicate and chief flyer an the airplane route, was released under 45,000 bail. The others arrested were: Edward F. O'Brien, alleged partner of Pinkhussohn; Joseph Wurzburg, drug store owner: Louis Bittner, warehouse manager; Robert Malquist, warehouse foreman; Emil Feindt, druggist; David Farrell, John C. Schenk, Raymond E. Dalton and Dillon Carlson. Investigation wa; rted last De- cember, when quantities of liquor from Cuba were found in two warehouses here, Federal agents said. The places | were equipped to dilute, rebottle and relabel. Two other plants where im- ported whisky and champagne were prepared for bootlegging were found later. Pinkhussohn recently was indicted in connection with the theft of 6,000 eases of whisky from a_Government concentration warehouse here.
