Slving credit for all data contained s the article to the Nationul Counter- 3t Detector, the Plate Printer- sup- nioments the statistics With the fol- lowing statement: “We can appreciate what our secret force has to contend with when such & calamity as this is thrust upon them, but when conditions are such as they have been at the bureau of engraving and priuting during the past year, we will not be surprised if the next report does not contain even a larger list than the one reported above, “Thers is mnothing that gives the counterfeiter of our paper securities more delight than to have the bureau of engraving and printing let down in quality of production. We are look- ing for improvement in the mear fu- ture, however.” Among statements in the article re- printed in the Plate Printer.is one an- rouncing: “The gang or gangs who are circulating these counterfeit notes evidently put out a lot with| a certain check letter and face plate | number and about the time these arc discovered and alarm notices sent out, changes are made to different check letters and face plate numbers.” Headlng the list is a description of 4 $1,000 federal reserve note. Then follow description of three $50 re- serve notes, twelve $20 reserve notes, sixteen $10 federal reserve notes, two $5 reserve notes, one national bank note and a $5 silver certificate.
