JOHNSON MARKS ANNIVERSARY Seventeenth Year at Grace Baptist Church to Be Celebrated Tomorrow. The seventeenth anniversary of the pastorate of Rev. F. W. Johnson is to be celebrated tomorrow at Grace Baptist Church, 9th street and South Carolina avenue southeast. The pas- tor will preach special sermons and the choir will be assisted by a quar- tet. Rev. Mr. Johnson came to Grace Church from Canton, Pa. He hasonly had three pastorates in a period of ! twenty-nine years. Grace Church has three times the membership it had when he came. A new church has been erected and palid for. JOINT MEETING HELD. Social Service Agencies Consider Juvenile Protection. A meeting of the soclal committee of the Federation of Churches was held this week. The | executive committee of the Juvenile Protective Association met in con- junction with it. The latter organi- zation was given assurance of the sympathetic co-operation of the for- mer and its willingness to do every- thing possible to make its work in- creasingly useful and successful. A number of informal speeches were made emphasizing this senti- ment. The churches of the city are asked to give special attention to the important work of the assocla- tion in behalf of delinquent children and those who are in danger of be- coming so and consequently need watchful care. —_— BAZAAR DATE DECIDED. A church building on 7th street near E was completed and dedicated the first Sunday in December, 1853. Rev. John M. Henry was the first pastor and remalned in service until April, 1855, when failing health com- pelled him to resign his charge. Rev. Elisha B. Cleghorn was installed pas- tor June 3, 1856. Hls pastorate was the ‘shortest in the history of the church, as he resigned in December of the same year. New Pastor Begins. Benjamin F.
