-THE ' SUNDAY - STAR, WASHINGTON, - D. ‘C, ' OCTOBER 28, -1923—PART 3. Listen in on the Greatest ‘Radio 0 The Famous Clapp-Eastham 3125 Radak Radio Sets, New Features of This Super-Receiving Set Radak is equipped with the very latest type UV-199 tube, made by the Radio Corporation of America. The advantages of the UV-199 tubes are many. It assures dry-cell operation, high amplification, long life and low current consumption. The use of spaghetti wire in the interior construction has been entirely abolished, and in its place bus-bar wire has been substituted. This, radio experts agree, makes for the finest construction because it is most permanent. The cabinet is made of solid mahogany, hand-polished, and is very attractive. The set = is the most compact; all parts are self-con- tained. There are receptacles on the interior to hold both A and B batteries as well as all other equipment. This means that it is no longer necessary to have unsightly wires or batteries visible. o, The wave length range is extremely flexible—ex- tending between 150 to 1,000 meters. The tuning is unusually sharp. These sets are famous for their selectivity. It carries a special five-circuit plug, to which you may attach two or more pairs of phones, or a loud speaker and phones, as may be desired; Doubtless, you recall one glorious day last July when we, in association with Gimbel’s of New York, put over the deal that reduced the price of RC Radiola Sets to less than half.
