C, SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER Lumber Movement Increases to Extraordinary Bounds An extraordinary revival of lumber trade activity for last week is shown by telegraphic reports received: to- day by the Natlonal Lymber Manu- facturers’ Assoclation from 400 of the larger commercial sawmills of the country. New business was 274,123, 895 feet, being an advance of 68,000, 000 over the preceding week. Pro- duction increased slightly over:the prevailing high level and shipments gained by 32,000,000 feet, or near 15 per cent. Last week’s new business:is the largest since the first week of Feb- ruary and was exceeded only by the first five weeks of the year. For the first time since the week of February 17, this year, new business exceeded shipments, and for the first time since totalg of a year ago, has falled to meet these figures during the past month.
