ENTRY O ANERA Ten Liners Bring 5,000 Over- night to Swell Ranks of Immigrants. By the Associated Press. NEW YORK, July 2.—Ten foreign liners which arrived during the night in Gravesend Bay with 5,000 passen- gers, mostly rrants, today swell- ed the number awaiting examination , at Ellls Island for entry into the United States under the new quota to approximately 15,000. Although more than 1,000 of the 74 aliens who arrived at EIls nd yesterday were immediately nded in New York, it s ficials that the number of new arrivals would daily exceed the number passed through, until the monthly quotas are entirely full. Quotas to be Filled Today. Among the quotas expected to be filled today are the Greek, the Swe- dish and those of several small Euro- pean countries. The Greek quota allows only 659 to enter during any one month, but the Swedish.is one of the large allowances, 4,008.
