The voung mother and child left Florence Crittenton Home, 218 3d strect, Wednesday aft- ernoon, the mother going to a 12th street address to accept a position. Yesterday afternoon she told her em- ployer she was going from the house and would return in about fifteen minutes, but failed to return. Last night police of the second precinet were asked to find the mother ‘and child. The mother left her belongings ut her employer's house and the latter fears something has happened to her and the child. Police of the several precinets were | instructed to search for them. POTSDAM, May 25.—Dr. ans Ludendorff, ' brother of the famous general, will head an expedition of German scientlsts to Mexico this year to observe the total eclipse of the sun_on September 10, Dr. Ludendorff is director of the astro-physical ob- servatory at Potsdam. All expenses will be borne by the Mexican govern- ment, at whose request the expedition is to be undertaken. One of the chief objects of the visit is to make fur- ther test of the Einstein theory. D., for thirteen years pastor of the Eastern Presbyterian Church, 6th street and Maryland avenue north- east, retiring from that charge in died yesterday in San Francisco, j Calif., where he had made his home for several years. He was eighty- seven years old. Dr. Easton had been in declining health for several years. Dr. Easton was a native of Edin- burgh, Scotland, where he received his theological education and was or- dained in that city a minister of the Presbyterian Church, taking his theological degrees in the University of Edinburgh. Thirty-five years ago he came to the United States, and his first charge in this country was a #mall church in Hlnois. Later he went to San Francisco, where he was pastor of the Calvary Presbyterian Church in 1887. He remained in that charge until January 24, 1894, when | | | { rond .. {of W. R he came to the Eastern Presbyterian Church in this city, where he re- mained until October 14, 1907. He was succeeded by Rev. Dr. Charle Lewis Neibel. Dr. Easton then be- came pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Spottswood. N. J., where he retired after several vears. He went to San Francizco, where he made his home with his =on, Dr. Daniel F. Easton, at the Hotel Whitcomb, in that city He is%survived also by another son and by two daughters, Mys. J. Russell Verbrycke. wife of the former pastor of the Gurley Memorial Church of this city, now residing in Berlin, Md., and Harry Thatcher, whosé husband an officer in the United States Army, stationed at New Orleans, La Dr. Easton was a thirty-third degrec Mason.
