Ryan Promised Her $500 a Month for Services. By the Associuted Press NEW YORK. Aprii 17.—Alleging that Clendenin J. Ryan, son of Thomas F. Ryan, financier, had failed to keep 5 Office’ building. hearing will be lan alleged contract to pay her $500 & month for life In return for her serv- jces in maintaining an apartment in New York, Miss Muriel Sharp of Gar- den City, N. Y. has brought suit against young Ryan in the Nassau ounty courts. The action_was revealed when at- torneys for Ryan asked for & change of venue to New York, alleging that Miss Sharp was_ not a resident of Nassau county. Miss Sharp is suing for $500 to test the validity of the contract, it was said. Miss Sharp alleged, in the papers jfiled. that the unusual contract with the financier's son_had been made in February, 1922. The contract pro vided that Miss Sharp was to live at the apartment and maintain a living room there where young Ryan could entertain. She alleged that she was living with her parents when she met Ryan, and was induced to leave her home by the guarantee of a regular income for life in return for main- taining the apartment. Ryan. Miss Sharp alleged, paid her $500 regularly each month until February of this year, when payment was disco: tinued. Decision was reserved on the application for change of venugs
