Reynolds, head of the syn- dicate that purchased the stock of the Lehigh and Wilkes-Barre Coal Company from the Central Railroad of New Jersey, today gave four mo- tives that were in hts mind when he formed the syndieate to make the purchase. The five bids received, he said, averaged $30,000,000, The Reynolds bid was $31,490,000, ONE-MAN GAR DEATH DECLARED ACCIDENTAL ‘While the Public Utilities Commission yesterday afternoon was hearing objec- tions by citizens to the continued use of one-man street cars in Washington, a coroner's jury at the morgue handed down a verdict of accidental death in the case of Mrs. Mary Belle Harrison, sixty-eight years old, struck by a one- man car near 11th and M streets Mon- day night.
