The feast of St. Antony of Padua, in the calendar of the Cathollc Church, occurs next Tuesday. Speclal Dispatch to The Star. , BALTIMORE, June 10.—The first issue of the Methodist, under its new name, the Washington Christian Ad- vocate, came from the press this week, with a letter from Bishop Wil- liam F. McDowell asking pastors of the three Methodist Episcopal con- ferences that compose the Washing- ton area to support the paper. In his letter the bishop says: “The area council voted to have the Methodist become the Washington Christian Advocate at the earliest feasible date. Conditions existing during the war have so far changed that we think we can now go ahead with our larger plans. The Methodist has played an absolutely indispen- sable part in the work of the area in these difficult years. Not one of the great enterprises of the church could have gone to success but for Its aid.” WILL DISCUSS MISSIONS. Woman's Societies of M. E. Church to Meet in Langdon.
