HYATTSVILLE, Md., December 5.— Anderson Chenault Quisenberry, sev- enty-one years old, a resident of Washington and Hyattsville for thir- ty-two years. died ut the home of his daughter-in-law, Mrs. James Francis Quisenberry, in Tampa, Fla., last week. The body, accompanied by his widow, will arrive here tonight. Mr. Quisenberry was an employe in the finspector general's office of the War Department from 1889 until Oc- tober, 1920, when he was retired. Born near Winchester, Ky., October | Bufftlo 26, 1850, and educated at Male Acad- emy, Winchester and Georgetown (Ky.) College, Mr. Quisenberry be- came prominent in literary life in Kentucky. He was the author of several publications on genealogy and history, besides being ecditor of sev- eral Kentucky newspapers and foun- der of the Winchester Sun. ed his journalistic career, however, when he came to Washington in 188! Mr. Quisenberry held membership | in & number of societies and organ: zations, including the Virginia His- torical ‘Society, Society for. Preserva- tio nof Virginia Antiquities, South- ern Soclety of Washington, Society of Colonial Wars and Kentucky State Historical Society. Twenty years ago, Mr. Qui moved to Hyattsville from Washing- ton and until about five years ago enjoyed excellent health. The death of his son, Lieut. James F. Quisenber- ry. in Liverpool, October 10, 191 while on his way to France, is be- lieved to have had a great part in destroying his health. For the past several years he and Mrs. Quisen. berry have spent the winters in Tam- pa. They left Hyattsville November 22, with the idea of remaining there until the spring. Mr. Quisenberry is survived by his widow, two daughters, Mrs. J. B. Ree- side, jr., and Miss Florence E. Quisen- berry, both of Hyattsville, and by a son, Colby B. ulsenberry, of Birming- ham, Ala.
