NEW YORK, December 6.—Decision to reject proposals for a forty-eight- hour week instead of the forty-four- hour one now in effect was reached last night by Local No. 1 of the Photo Engravers' Union. The pro- posals were submitted by thé photo engravers' board of trade, represent- ing the entire engru\ing industry of New Y y. The ers claimed Dusiness. union men In other citles, notably Boston and Buffalo, were working fortye eight hours and that a large part of the commercial engraving was going to these places, where work could be turned out at lower rates.
