furniture that Says— “Sit Down” Look at these chairs, and the long, deep, luxur- iously upholstered davenport. Note also the un- usual table with octagon-shaped top. Fit for the finest homes in the land. Don’t you think so% The reeds that are used in this furniture are imported from India and are smooth and pliable, but very strong. In construction every part is braced thoroughly. The seats and the backs yield to the curves of your body, but never sag, and always spring back into place. The cover materials: Cretonnes, chintzes, tapestries; whatever you wish, are furnished to harmonize with your walls, rugs and draperies. Prices are only about half what you would probably think. Really, wouldn’t you like to fix your living room as attractively as this? And won’t you please come to The Lifetime Furniture Store and let us show you how? WINONA LAKE, Ind., May 27.—Com- missioners of the 133d general assem- bly of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America began a general exodus from Winona Lake today following the dissolution of Vaul L. Hutchins of and Goldi in_the near futu Clarence 2 " of Balty Gertrude B. 8 5 en inyder of Brookville, Pa. Swearingen of St. Paul, Minn, moderator. The assembly during its sessions disposed of more than 1,000 overtures presented from various presbyteries dealing with a variety of subjects. Approval was given to a budget of $12,000,000 for the expenses of church board and agencies during the com- ing year. Despite numerous overtures, the commissioners refused to make any radical changes in the form of church government, but decided to continue a special committee which has been in existence for one year, and which was appointed for the purpose of studying the problems of the organization and consolidation of the numerous boards and agencies. Dr. John T. Stone of Chicago is chairman of the committee. A report will be made to the next general assembly, which will meet in Des Moines, Iowa, in May, 1922. Uphold New Era Movemen: At various times during the assem- bly the commissioners expressed thelr approval of the work conducted by the Presbyterian new era movement and in_the closing session voted down a resolution which proposed that the movement be terminated at the close of the period provided for its main- tenance and then consideration be | given to continuing its activities un- der another name. The part women should have in church government was brought be- fore the commissioners on different occasions, but they confined their ac- tion to ordering a presbyterial vote on the proposition of = permitting women to be installed as deacons in the church. This vote will be re- ported to the next assembly. Efforts to obtain organic unity of all evangelical denominations were discussed by the commissioners, and a committes was instructed to con- tinue other negotiations ~ with churches looking to such a union. Rev. Louis Seymour Mudge of Har- risburg was elected to fill the office of stated clerk for a term of five years. This office in the past was a permanent one. It was made vacant last year by the death of Dr. Willlam Henry Roberts, who had filled it for thirty-six years. Fund for Relief Abroad. ST. LOUIS, May 27.—A campaign for a relief fund of $75000 to be spent in France, Belgium and Czecho- slovakia in the next year Was in- dorsed at the closing session of the sixty-first_general assembly of the Southern Presbyterian Church here.
