Showell—Hickling Wedding. Easter lilies, with palms and Aus- tralian ferns, formed the setting for the marriage of Miss Sarah Stone Hickling, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Daniel Percy Hickling, and Mrs. John Dale Showell, jr., which took place last evening at 8 o'clock at the Church of the Ascension, Rev. Dr. Edmund Burke of Ocean City, Md. officiating, in the presence of a distin- guished gathering of relatives and friends. ' A program of nuptial music was given before the ceremony, Miss Na- talie Pace singing several solos and Frof. Anton Kaspar giving violin numbers, accompanied by Mrs. Alfred Harned, organist. The bride, who was escorted and later given in marriage by her father, was charming in her gown of white crepe meteor, the bodice elaborately embroidered in pearls with ropes of pearls forming the tiny sleeves and the decollete outlined with rose point lace. Her long train of the crepe meteor was cut in two points at the end. She wore a tulle veil with a coronet of rose point lace and carried a shower bouquet of bride roses and ants were carried out in the pastel shades, each wearing a different color, but of so delicate a tone that the effect was beautiful. Mrs. George Cooke, the matron of honor, wore pale rose in her hair and she carried a bouquet of two shades of pink sweet peas. Miss Natalie Pace, the maid of honor, wore gold color satin with a golden coronet and her bouquet was of lavender sweet peas. The other attendants were Mrs. Pdward Schwab. who wore pale blue taffeta; Miss Natalie Stone of Pitts- burgh, Pa, cousin of the bride, orchid taffeta; Mrs. Walter Zirpel, pink taf- feta, and Miss Lucile Showaiter, pale groen. They wore wide silver coro- nets and carried shower bouquets of maidenhair fern tied with ribbon to match their gowns. Constance Russell and Jean Kins- man were the little flower girls. The best man was Mr. Daniel C. Hickling, uncle of the bride, and the ushers included Mr. Frank Truitt of Ocean City, Md.; Mr. Walter Zirpel, Mr. George Cooke, Mr. Schwab. Mr. Edward Stroheck Mr. Stdney Small of Roanoke, Va. A reception followed at the home of the bride’s parents, 1304 Rhode Is- land avenue, when the bridal couple were assisted in receiving by Mrs. Hickling, mother of the bride, who wore a stunning black velvet and jet gowm; Mra.
