The skirt'is made in two pieces, consisting of a narrow foundation and an ex- ceedingly wide-flaring overskirt of the same léngth, which is cut in scal- lops at the .bottom. A black satin sash ties in a large bow.at the back and forms the only trimming to the frock. A new haf is a striking color pic- ture of bright scarlet and silver, with a more subdued note added in the trimming of dove gray quills. The brim rolls gently upward all the way around and is covered by two rows of fine red raffia. An overlapping band of the straw is placed at one side vt the front and holds the quills in place. The entire crown is made of brilliant silver cloth, and the contrast of this with the red raffia is really very ef- fective. SPRING SUIT OF LIGHT GRAY |she wi SERGE.
