Exxton, December 25, 1892. ‘There is considerable talk of building a rail- road from Easton, Md., via Wye Mills, Center- ville, Church Hill and Chestertown, then via the Baltimore and Delaware Bay rajlroad to Lambson’s and Galena, Cecilton, Elkton to Singerly’s on the Baltimore and Ohio railroad. It is suggested that Cecil county's unexpended state fund of $33,000 be expended for the sur- vey and construction of that part of the pro- posed new line as far as Lambson’s, on the Baltimore and Delaware Bay railroad, giving line of thirty-eight miles from Elkton to Ches- tertown, leaving only about thirty-five miles to construct between Chestertown and Easton. ‘This road would cross every branch line of the eastern shore counties and cut off trade and travel now forced to the Delaware railroad. The new road would take in every town ex- cept Cambridge and Denton and would traverse the best and most populous parts of the counties on the eastern shore, and gather freight and passenger tragic and deliver the same to Singer- ly on the Philadelphia division of the Baltimore and Ohio, two miles north of Eikton. muel Borum, an old citizen of Chesapeake City, this county, is dead at the age of 87 years.
