Boys Arrested for Coasting on the Silewalk— Other Prisoners in the Police Court. The cold weather and snow yesterday and last night had the effect of keeping the vio- lators of tho law indoors, where they could re- main by the fire, and the result was that the police throughout the city had but little to do except regulate the children who were coasting on tho hills with their Christmas sleds. It was their first opportunity this season and hun- dreds of children took advantage of it In Georgetown Policeman Bloom objected to the occupancy of the sidewalk by the children and their sleds and made three arrests. ‘This morn- ing the threo arrested were called before Judge Kimball for obstructing the sidewalk. ‘Tho first called was a emall colored boy named Willie Lancaster, who was hardly large enough to draw a good-sized sled up a Georgetown hill. His plea to the charge was guilty, and the po- liceman asked for hie release on his personal recognizance, as he only wanted to warn him not to repeat the offenso.
