In the matter of the estate of David Patter- son, in which Mr. Sylvester ‘has filed a petition for a revocation of the letters of administra- tion to C. C. Tucker, Detective Block bas filed an affidavit. In this Mr. Block says he called on David Kurtz (the creditor on whose petition the let- ters were issued) about the middle of August at the request of Mr.Sylvester, and after Kurtz stated that he had a claim against the estate he said to him that he had come to learn the cir- cumstances of the claim and if it was » just one there would be less opposition on the part of Mr. Sylvester. This, the affidavit says, wasin front of Kurtz's house (K street and Delaware avenue north- east) in the presence of @ man named Dingle, ‘ho claimed to be a nephew and who. said’ ive knew all about the claim and had consulted lawyers. Kurtz said that he bad no idea of going | to law about it, but Dingle ad brought him word’ from Keese that Keese could get it right away and he then went with Dingle to Keese made outa paper. Nothing was said by him as to any probable ac- tion Delos ‘taken against any one connected with the claim. Subsequently he requested Mr. Kurtz to come to the office of the attorney for the District to sign bis statement, which had been written out, and he did so.
