Hendricks, department president, Department of Potomac, Woman's Relief Corps, has issued a special order relating to the dispo- sition of the corps on Memorial day, seying: ‘The department commander having invited this department to decorate the graves at Ar- lington lying in sections A, Band D and the monuments and graves in section wherein are placed the bodies of officers of the late war, all of which contain more than ten thousand graves, the following assignments are hereby made for that dut, Section D, containing about 5,000 graves, is assigned to the joint charge ‘of Mrs. Mary L. Davenport, department chaplain; Mies Julia Mason, senior vice department president, and Mra. Susie McCabe, president of Lincoln Corps. Mad- dox met with a serious and painful accident. ‘The doctor is one of the members of the build- ing committee of the new court house, and while walking through the basement of the building in company with some friends he made a misstep and fell into a hot-uir pit, a distance of about five feet, injuring one of his hips and being badly bruised about the body As.soon as possible he was carried home and after examination it was found that no bones were broken, but that he had sustained a severe nervous shock. Dr. :Maddox is a very heavy man and well advanced in years. A special meeting of the county commission- ers will be held on Monday, June 8, and con- tinue during the week for the purpose of ex- amining the accounts of road supervisors, justices of the peace, constables, &c., prior to making the annual levy. The motion for a new trial in the case of | Elizabeth D.
