Gen. Miles Does Not Fear an Outbreak This Wioter—The Indian Messiah. A telegram from Gen. Miles was received thia morning by Major General Schofield saying that there seeme to be no danger of trouble with the Sioux Indians at the Rosebud and other agencies. The Indians remain restless, however, and are exciting themselves by fre- quent war dances and are still looking for the coming of the Messiah, who is to exterminate tho white man. The Indian prophets are doing everything to stimulate the excitement, The failure of the Messiah, however, to appear at specified dates has had a somewhat depressing effect upon their efforts. Now it is predicted that he will appear in December—date not defi- nitely fixed in view of past failures at accurate prediction, Gen. Miles believes that when the next failure is recorded the influence of the prophets upon the Indians, already badly shaken, will be substantially destroyed. It is conceded that while they were embarrassed by the steady depression in Argentines to aconsiderable extent the prin- cipal and precipitating cause of their trouble was Russia's withdra of £5,000,000 in all from the firm's accounts, ANOTHER SUSPENSION ANNOUNCED. Gregory, Ballou & Co., brokers, of No. 1 New street, announced their suspension on the stock exchange shortly after 11 o'clock. Mr. Gregory ys the cause of the suspension of the firm was the shrinkage in stocks aud believes their em- barrassment will be temporary only. The other members of the firm concur in this statement. Mill, Robeson & Smith assigned to William A. Watson, witha preference to Edward J. Sanford for $15,000 and to James H. Fay of 11,000.
