Last_evening the police of the first precinct found Lemuel Lacey, a farmer, aged sixty-five yeurs, sick at 9th and B streets, and he was sent to the Emergency Hospital. D. Landis, a stranger from Lancaster, Pa., was also found sick in the street and sent t6 the same hospital. Rising Sun Lodge No.7 of Good Tem- plars met last night on 10th street near F northeast and had added to their number eight new members. There was music and addresses by Rev. A. A. Lott, Mr. R. D. Mrs. Emma Fisher, a colored woman, was fined #2 by Judge Miller today for working a horse unfit for labor. John Washington, the colored fireman ou the ferry boat City of Washington who was ar- rested for assaulting J. K. Wilson, the engi- neer, was fined $5 by Judge Miller today. Judge Miller of the Police Court has moved into the city from Takoma for the winter and is living at No. 211 North Capitol street. There will be @ musical entertainment, vocal and instrumental. recitations, &c., Monday evening next at Prof. Hall's Dancing and Fenc- ing School. Admission free. — Fined for Putting Stones on the Track. A colored boy named John Hall amused himself near 7th street northeast yesterday by putting stones on the railroad tracks of the Baltimore and Ohio railroad and Watchman Johnson had him arrested. He told Judge Miller this morning that he did not know what he put the stones there for. A fine of $10 was imposed. ie The Girls Were Discharged. “You can't hug and kiss this girl if your uame is Ben Harrison,” said Lawyer Moss in the Police Court today. Ben Harrison was a young colored man and he charged three colored girls, Jane Joyce, Annie Dodson and Annie Young. with beating him. Lawyer Moss a peared fur the girls and showed that Ben hugged and kissed one of them withont her consent and for that reason, he claimed, they had aright to beat bim. Sidney Brooks, the young colored man who was arrested near 16th and M streets Thursday night, when another colored man fired @ shot at Officers Olmstead and Kersten, was taken before the Police Court this morning and tried for disorderly conduct. Lawyer Closs, who represented the defendant, made the state- ment that the shot was fired by the officer, but this the policemen denied. Brooks was asked whether he had been drinking and said he had waited on » dinner party earlier in the evening and had drank some claret. Mr. Dumont thought it was gin, colored with sirap. The court disposed of the case by fining Brooks $5. Se Mrs. Luckett Objects: In the divorce case of Samuel T. Luckett against Kate V. Luckett the defendant has, by Mr. A. A. Lipscomb, her counsel, filed a motion to strike out as scandalous, impertinent and irrelevant all of the biil from the end of the third paragraph to the thirteenth and last, ex- cepting that portion of the twelfth paragraph charging adultery. saa et Fair of Naomi Lodge, D. of R. The fair room of Naomi Lodge, D. of R,, last night at Odd Fellows’ Hall, East Washington, was crowded with the members and friends of Washington Grand Canton, who visited the fair ina body. The ladies were kept very busy during the evening and the voting was lively. On Tuesday evening next the Volunteer Fire- men’s Association will visit the fair, Wednesday night the lodges of Good Templars will be present ‘and on Friday might the uniformed odies of the Knights of Pythias will visit the fair, which closes Saturday, November 22, ee Must Keep Away. Aquilla Barton, an old colored man who drove hack here for many years, caused a disturb- ance in front of the White House about noon yesterday that attracted a large crowd. The old man has the rheumatism and has been earn- ing a few pennies about the White House asa guide. He has caused considerable annoy- ance to officers on duty there, and yesterday he was arrested by Officer Cunningham, who was in citizens clothes. Tho old man objected to being arrested by a man who did not wear blue clothes and brass buttons, and he 3 gpatremes to pound the officer over the head with an old umbrella. Officer Cunningham did not want to hurt the old man, and so he called on a citizen for assist- ance. Barton was finally taken to the police sta- tion, where he was charged with obstructing the sidewalk and with assault. Judge Miller heard the case this morning and fined Burton $5. The latter showed a notice that he had re- ceived to get out of his house.
