ANOTHER RECORD BROKEN, The B. and O. ‘Royal Blue Line” Breaks the Time to New York. The ‘Royal Blue Line” party of newspaper men and their families, who had been to New York Saturday and Sunday as the guests of the Baltimore and Ohio, the Reading and the Cen- tral railroad of New Jersey, returned last night at 8:15, after a delightful trip, just long enough to make every one wish it were longer. The company left Washington Saturday moruing at 7:30 and at Baltimore and Philadelphia added a number of guests. The train was of the famous Royal Blue of the Baltimore and Ohio and the time made for the 226 miles between the capital and the metropolis was 256 minutes, the best speed ever attained by a train between the points named and a broken record for the Royal Biue, At New York the party, comprising three hundred persons, went aboard a stoamer and after a cruise up the East river went down the bay and through the “Narrows” out to sea for annnute or two. Returning the guests were given accommodations at the Plaza Hotel and at the Murray Hill, most of the Washington people becoming Murray Hillers, Everybody went to church Sunday morning (which is not true) and at 3 o'clock the homeward journey was begun andthe run made in five hours, A meeting was called on the train and resolu- tions of thanks were extended to General Pas- senger Agents C, O. Scull of the B. and O., H. P. Baldwin of the C. KR. R. of New Jersey and Cc. G. Hancock of the Reading and to Col. Percy Smith, the Washington passenger agent of the B. and O., for the creature comforts pro- vided and for the general good time enjoyed. ——— NEWS FROM ROCKVILLE.
