Gold Hill, as the new camp is called, is located twenty miles east of Sara- toga, in the Medicine Bow range of mountains, Prospecting has been going on for years and the region has always been looked on as the scene of future mining operations of an exten- sive character. Up to this time fifteen distinct and separate gold-bearing — leads have been discovered and located. The quartz lies in woll-defined walls of stone and the leads are from six inches to seven feet thick. While no assays have been made, it is believed that the latest find of ore will run €1,500 to the ton. A genticman who has just arrived in Denver from the scene of the excitement saye: “If the ore pans out as it promises, Gold Hill will equal the famous Tin Cup camp of Colorado.
