Manteuffel has been stopped in bis march towards Amiens, and ordered to join the army of Saxony investing north of Paris, while the D uke of Mecklenburg and the army of Frederick Charles, having effected a janc- tion between Etampes and Fontainblae are ap- proaching Paris from the south. These mave- ments will increase the army investing Paris to #,000. On the other hand the armies of the Loire, east aud north, are without formidable foe in front. SITUATION OF THE ARMY OF THE LOIRE Lowen, Nov. 21—A special correspondent of the New York World, writing from the Ger- man headquarters on the 17th, gives important information concerning movements against the army of the Loire. The Bavarians are moving from Fontaiuebleu, towards which point Prince Frederick Charles is hastening by — marches. The Duke of Mecklen the enemy as having just defiled towards Cha teadun, and as constantly pushing forward to occupy Dreux. General D'Aurelles hazarded much im order to deliver the capital, placi the besiegers between two tires, but the situ tion is equally critical on the German side. At this time the French are falling back on its re- serves, resisting the army of Prince Frederick Charles. A sortie from Paris, combined withan attack in the rear of Versailles is daily ex- pected.
