The following important items of war news were received here last night : GENERAL ENGAG DEFEAT OF A PRUSSIAN RECONNOI- TERING FORCE. Lowpos; Nov. %—A dispsteh from Tours, dated nine o’clock this morning, says that last night a Prussian column, with two batteriesand i40 cavalry, attacked the outposts of the army of the Loire at Poisey and Laurent des Bots. ‘The French, reinforeed, drove them beyond Valiere. Mr. MoCorkendale, of Scotiand, Mr. Randall, of Quiney, Mass., and Dr. Beane, of Baltimore, who were lost amidst the snows of thesummit of Mt. Blanc. The bodies of Mr. McCorkendale and Dr. Bean were discovered on September Isth. The bodies proved too brittle to undress, and were interred in the same clothing in which they made the ascent.
