The interview lasted an hour, and was pri- vate. What passed has not been made public although it is stated outside that the j ‘were inclined to the opinion that the Judges of Fegistry should spe the lists, but preferred that the question should come up ina legal form that the question might be judicially de- termined. After this conference, the court in general term met with the above-named, and Judge Fisher on the bench, when Messrs. Bradley, Sr.. Merrick and Fenda appeared, and made & motion for a rule on the judges of election to sbow cause why a writ of mandamus shonld Rot be issuedcompeliing them to Tegister the names of James R. And your petitioner further showeth that he is entirely remedile=s at and by the ordinary rules of law, and that proceeding by writ of mandamus hereinafier prayed for, is the only Temedy whereby your petitioner can obtain ad ate relief. Your petitioner therefore that a writ of mandamus may be Awarded by your hom directed to said judges, (civing their names) commanding them forthwith and without delay to enter the mame of your petitioner upon the list of persons qualified to vote in said Second Ward of said city of Washington 2s a qualified yoter In said ward and city at the coming election io be held as aforesaid on She Bras Monday of As in daty bound, kc. a .
