LOCAL NEWS. AMUSEMENTS TO-NIGHT. Grover’s THEATER.—Miss Lucille Western ‘will conclude her engagement at Grover’s this evening, and will be the. recipient of a compli- mentary benefit. She willappearaus “Nancy Sykes,” in ths drama of “Oliver Twist.” Itis mot necessary to bespeak for Miss Western a full house on this occasion. Our theater goers have been often delighted by her acting, and ‘Will show a proper appreciation of her efforts. Yesterday atternnoon, 500 mev, who are unfit Yor active service in the field, but are abie to do some dnty, and who have been assigned to the Invalid Corps, were sent to the Soldiers’ Rest, and this morning they will leave for Harrisburg, Pa. They are under the com- mand of Major Giles, and it is understcod are to be assigned duty in the Department of the Susquehanna. These men, although they have suffered considerably from the campaign, are etill able todo light duty, and no doubt their services will be valuable. Peter “Bangale, assault; bail for peace. pia ema ear Se ASSAULT AND BatTsry.—On Wednesday might, two teamsters, George Troutwine and Frank Chiser were drunk, and in the neigh- borhood of the Navy Department the latter was struck, as is by the former, and his jaw bone broken. The police were in- formed of the fact, and they had the injured man removed tothe station, when Dr. Joyce dressed the wounds, after which he was taken to the hospital. Officer Berland arrested Troutwine and breught him to the station, and no witnesses appearing against him, he was dismissed by Justice Drury. ie Ral 1 York AND WASHINGTON.—Messrs.
