LAMAR, Colo., July 9.— (By The Associated Press.) —Sixteen harvest field work- ers out of forty or more who yesterday seized a Santa Fe freight train near Syracuse, Kansas, overpowered the crew and ran it to Lamar only to be met and routed by an armed possee, waited in the county jail here today to learn what the cost of their adven- ture would be. The harvest workers attacked tho train east of Syracuse, brandishing guns and clubs as they boarded it. The conductor, however, dropped a mote as the train rolled slowly through town with the result that word was sent here and a posse was formed by sheriffs. The harvesters showed fight on alghting the posse but broke and fled when scores of shots were fired over their heads. Sixteen of the flee- ing men were caught in'the round- up. There were no casualties.
