Collins structure. ‘fhe first well, the famous Whitaker discovery, has leaked more than $200,000 worth of oll and has paid its owner more than-one hundred per cent on the investment in seven months. The Whitaker came in unexpectedly aud no actual test of the capacity of the well has ever been made. It is esti- mated on good authority, however, that both the Whitaker and Ver Straten are capable of producing from 10,000 to 15,000 barrels per day —both are gushers. The Country Club No, 1 of the Atlantic Petroleum corporation, not far from the two great gusher pro- ducers, is considered one of the best independent locations in tha Fort Collins field. Country Club is now drilling at almost 2,000 feet and the directors of Atlantic Petroleum are more than pleased with operations so far. New geological data has strengthened the position of Atlantic on the structure and the comparison of the Atlantic log with the Whit- aker and Ver Straten wells indicates that if antyhing Atlantic is higher on structure than either of the two gushers. Country Club No. 1 {s now forging ahead with all possible speed. The company has sufficient casing bought and paid for on the ground to carry the well 3,500 feet. Nego- tlations are on now for the purchase of 3,600 feet of 8% and 4,500 feet of 6% inch casing to complete the end of the J hole. Atlantic ts working two towers and the present formation is con- trbiuting to speed. Atlantic Petroleum'’s Country Club No. 1 {s right in the path of the biggest development activity. The Union Oj] company of California are making new locations nearer and nearer to Atlantic.
