reanew PiEREDESY ctedeaneeayage If You Want All the News Output of 100 Cars a Day Increased by Manufacturer. Production reports from the Chrysler Motor corporation indicate that the company has not only been able to maintain its recent rate of one hundred cars a day but has bet- tered this mark in the past week, with every sign pointing to capacity production by the end of April. For the last several weeks of March the Chrysler plant was turn- ing out one hundred cars every day. In the past six working days the average has been one hundred and ten a day. J. E. Fields, general sales manager of the company, said in a statement yesterday that capa- city production of one hundred and fitty cars daily will undoubtedly be reached before April 30. Orders on hand fully indicate that it will be recessary to maintain this peak pro- duction for months to come. Although the production gains have to somé extent taken care of back orders, new orders have also been received in increasing propor- tions. Cars are now being delivered to buyers and are beginning to dot the highways of the country from coast to coast. Le RSS TRUCK SERGE 5 EXPANDING Zones Are Created by New York Central In New Plan. LOUIS, April 19.—The steady increase in the amount of trading that economic conditions is foreing on the automobile dealers is also steadily forcing on the dealer the necessity for buying the used car at the very lowest possible figure, says Lynn M. Shaw, assistant gen- eral manager of the National Auto- mobile"Dealers’ association in a re. part which she announced today showing the increase in trading. He asserts that the old and ruth- less economic principle of “supply and demand” {s having a powerful effect. “In comparison to the. number of new motor vehicles increases with year,” says Mr. Shaw, W CAR BUYERS ASKING TOO MUCH FOR USED CARS, CLAIM supply of used motor vehicles he- comes ever greater. The demand for new mootr vehicles increases with the years. While the demand for used motor vehicles very naturally must decrease in ratio. The supply of .used motor vehicles increases each year in greater proportion than the demand. This weakens the sell- ing price level for used vehicles. The automobile dealers trading in the old car must keep his allowance price below the selling price level, if he is to sell the used vehicle with- out a loss. Few of them are doing it. The public expects tog much money for its used vehicles, in com- parison to the market value. Sales of new cars is more and more a re- peat business. After considerable deliberation, Gordon Habenicht, of the Bungalow Grocery, purchased a new Stude- baker Special Six sedan. Straight as a string, he sits at the wheel and with just cause. He is proud of his new closed gas bugsy. The Nolan Chevrolet company have already taken twice the num- ber of orders in April specified in their quota for that month. Is Andy Gump a mathematician.
