| PAGE TWELVE. For Dawes Being Boomed Vice Presidency By ROBERT T. SMALL (Copyright 1924, Casper Tribune) NEW YORK, April 19.—Altho they have but the slightest of hopes that General Charles G. Dawes would consent to run forthe vice presidency, leaders of the Republl- can party are planning to make the most of his prevailing popularity with. the public by asking him to serve as temporary chairman of the fonvention which is to nominate Calvin Coolidge at Cleveland. General Dawes name has been sug gested to the committee of arrange- ments for the convention and has been received with the greatest favor Of course, the committee will not move in the matter without the con- sent of President Coolidge. His wishes are to prevail in even the smallest details of the coming con- vention as well as in all the larger phases. The party leaders have even agreed that Mr. Coolidge should write his own platform and Secretary of State Hughes has intl- mated administration approval of this move by announcing that Mr. Coolidge is his own platform. As temporary chaiman of the Cleveland convention, ° Mr. Dawes ‘would have the task of delivering the keynote address for his party. It is believed he would deliver it in the sharp, crisp sentences for which he is noted, Coming home fro: international r This an ideal man to ington situation n point of view, fits into the the Republic is not would r deal with the W from the Repu General Daw in, fr angle. under Presider biishing the Now he und: |d come to both fore 2 shining cr phases of the Republican adminis trations of the last 4 3 The move to make “Charley” Dawes temporary chairman of 05 HOUSES IN MOUNTAIN VIEW In a recent survey for the Natrona Power Co., to ascertain number of houses and their location for the most feasible way to put in the electric lines it was discovered | there are. e five houses in Mountain View Suburb. ‘This was a surprise even to Baker-Grude In- vestment Co., selling agents, for they had been working under the assumption there were sixty-five, and in fact had advertised it that way. ‘hen the suburb was first opened up the firm advertised they would ten houses.
