New Yerk, Dec. 12 —Frank Thistle, & young leather merchant. who claimed New York and Newark as places of residence, died of smallpox ; im the pest house in Philadelphia Thursday night, after an illness of one week. He was upon his honey- moon when stricken at the home of a friend, No 200 North Thirty-third street, where he was visiting with his bride of a week. The couple were married in this city on November 25 When the nature of the disease be- eame known Mr. Thistle bravely bade his bride go d-by and volun tarily offered to go to the pest house. His disease progressed into the malignant type, and it was early seen that his case was hopeless. Mrs. Thistle, a bride and widow within two weeks, is prostrated.
