E. Diehl. Mrs. F. M. Davis was named pres-. ident, Mrs. F. E. Diehl, vice presi- dent; Mrs. Marcia Thomas, secre- tary, and Mrs. Van R. Middlemas, treasurer. After the business meeting a Christmas party was held. ee Recital Given at Grosvenor Studio Pupils of the Grosvenor studio were presented last night in a piano recital at the studio, 620 Seventh street. The following pupils took part in the program: Dorothy and Dolores Tekippe, Joan Hughes, Charlotte and Fay Kent, Phyllis Olson, Maty Lou- ise Kupfer, Caroline Williamson, Claire DeRochford, Helen Targart,| P' Catherine Alphonte, Idele Stegner and Annette Leibole. J, McGillis, a paper on “Aucassin’s Quest” by Mrs. Obert Olson, and Mrs. M. E. McIntyre discussed “The Adventures of the United Lovers.” . ee Mrs. Peter Kerner of Sidney, Mont., is in the city for a visit with her daughters, Mrs. W. A. McVey and Mrs. Donald Johnson. Floren will be hostess to the members of the Bismarck Study club Monday afternoon. A program made up of Christmas stories and music will be given. The meeting was spent in dress- ing dolls and getting the boxes of gifts ready for needy families of the city. During the past few weeks the club has collected used toys and dolls and these have been repaired and will be sent to children who may be forgotten by Santa Claus. A Christmas tree with gifts for each of the members was a feature of the evening. A course luncheon was served by the hostess after the social hour. . pee) Fargo Leading in Membership Drive Fargo is leading in the American Legion Auxiliary “Kentucky Derby” membership contest, according to Mrs. Clinton F. Phillips, Fargo, de- ‘tment secretary. She reports a gain of 78 members for the Fargo Auxiliary. Devils Lake and North- wood are second and third \respec- tively. With 2000 of the more than 5000 members already paid up and drives in progress throughout the state, Mrs. Phillips is confident that Janu- ary 1 will see an almost 100 per cent membership. This will give North Dakota a favorable position in the nation-wide derby contest in which both Legion posts and Auxiliary members will take part beginning Janauary 2. Mrs. C. G.
