Others plan to sepnd the day in Bismarck toattend the program arranged by the state council of defense. At the Mandan Town and Country club open house will be held during the evening, with a musical program and the dedication of a service flag as features. The loyalty celebration at, the Catholic premises afternoon and evening. will; consist of @ musical program. and an|. ice cream social under the auspices of the ladies and girls of the sodality. Gilbert Furness, who enlisted in the light artillery at Jefferson Barracks, (Mo., several weeks ago, has advised. his parents that he has been trans- ferred to Kentucky where he is sta- tioned at Camp Tayior, near Louis- ville. The precipitation for the entire month was .59 of an inch. The nearest ap- proach to this low record was in 1887, when the rainfall aggregated but .85 of an inch. In 1917, dry as it was, 2.15 inches of rain fell in June; in 1916 tnere were 1.50 inches, and 1915, 5.70 inches and in 1914, 9.90 inches, the highest on record. One hundredth of an inch of rainfall was reported on the fourth and fifth, .34 of ‘an’ inch on the third and .23 of an inch on the 7th. Aside from these dates, the} month was one of absolute bone dry- ness. The highest temperature for | June, 101 on the 10th, was within two degrees of the absolute maximum for this month for 44 years.
