Beltrami County The Daily Pioneer today publishes a forty-four page “Booster Edi- tion” of Beltrami County, “The Land of Certainty” and of Bemidji, “The Magic City of the North.” In enumerating the advantages of this district the writer is at loss where to begin and where to leave off, there are so many resources to be named and so many opportunities to be pointed out. The development of the county is still in its infancy. We who are here today are but blazing the trail for a greater evolution. The acres now untenanted will soon be populated and add to the wealth of the State of Minnesota. ‘We have endeavored in this edition to not alone give statistics and articles on the quality of the soil etc., but we have also tried to give some idea of the growth of this county by historical articles and actual farm reports by the farmers themselves. We have set aside pages in farm statistics gathered especially for this edition telling when a number of farmers came to this county, the amount of land that they have cleared and some of the results that they have obtained. We have endeavored in his issue to cover the entire field so far as the limited space would per- mit and if any omissions occur or any errors are found we trust that our readers will understand that such errors and such omissions are mis- takes, pure and simple, and that we have not intended to slight any- one or anything, neither have we intended to publish anything of mis- leading nature. ‘We desire to take this opportunity to thank those merchants who have assisted us in this edition and to say to them that they are in a large measure responsible for what we believe is the finest booster edition ever published in this vicinity. We wish also herewith to express our sincere thanks to those who have contributed special articles for this issue. To the homeseeker we would say that Beltrami county bids you welcome. Prosperity welcomes you in this county. In this county farmers reap harvests of doMars from land. In this county clover is a weed ; blue grass is a nuisance. Beltrami county is the banner sunshine county of the Gopher state and boasts of fertile lands, established railroads and markets. Beltrami county is the land of opportunities where life is worth while. It is the county of wealth, health and recreation, besides being the fisherman’s and hunter’s “Paradise.” Read these pages, ponder over them and if you are looking for a home, we would say to you, “come, settle in this land of certainty.” Among the advantages set forth in the following pages are—smooth, undulating land—a clay loam soil with clay subsoil—and abundance of pure drinking water—all kinds of building material and fuel—many varities of wild fruit—plenty of fish and game—good schools—graded roads—a number of lakes and rivers for fishing and boating—the best of markets near at hand—an invigorating and healthful climate—a crop of timber ready for harvest and ready sale for the timber at good prices— a home demand that more than takes all of the products of the farm at good prices—an average rain fall of thirty inches—no hot winds nor destructive hailstorms. Think of this combination and remember that these lands can be secured at low prices and on easy terms. Can you, Mr. and Mrs. Homeseeker, afford to take a chance of pass- ing this by? B o i vag . —
