When properly laid it combines the advantages and has none of the disadvantages of other types of floors. The best way to lay linoleum over wood is to cement it over a layer of builder's deadening felt which has previously been glued to the bare floor boards. Real linoleum has weight and strength. It is a composition of linseed oil, ground cork, and tough burlap. There is body to it.
