NEGRO BSHOP - URGE ATION TO END LYNCHING Council Asks Voters to Op- pose Statesmen Hostile to Federal Law. ‘The Bishops’ Council of the African Methodist Church, in session at Bethel A. M. E. Church, No. 52 West 132d Street, will hold meetings morn- ing and afternoon to-day and to- morrow. The council brings to- gether all the Bishops, general off- cers and several hundred of the lead- ing ministers and laymen from all sections of the United States, Canada, indies and South America. The following constitute the Board of Bishops: Bishops B. T. Tanner, Philadelphia (retired); B.F. Lee, Wu- perfore, O.; C. S. Smith, Detroit, Mich.; I, J. Coppin, Philadelphia; H. B, Parks, Chicago; J. 8. Flipper, Atlanta, Ga.; J. A. Johnson, Philadel- phia; W. H. Heard, Philadelphia; John Hurst, Baltimore, Md.; William D. Chappelle, Columbia, S. C.; Joshua H. Jones, Wilberforce, O.; J. M. Con- ner, Little Rock, Ark.; W. W. Beck- ett, Brooklyn; I. N. Ross, Washing- ton, D. C.; Willam D. Johnson, Plains, Ga.; A. J. Carey, Chicago; W. Samson Brooks, Monrovia, Liberia, yy Comb Sage Tea in} \ Faded or Gray Hair RAY hair, however hand- some, denotes advancing age. We all know the advan- tages of a youthful appear- ance. Your hair is your charm, It makes or mars the face, When it fades, turns gray, and looks streaked, just a few applications of Sage Tea and Sulphur enhance its appearance a hundred-fold. Don’t stay gray! Look young! Either prepare the recipe at home or get from any drug store a bottle of iy Wyeth's Sage and Sulphur Compound,” which is merely the old-time recipe improved by the addition of other in- gredients, Thousands of folks recommend this ready-to-use preparation, because it dark- ens the hair beautifully; be- sides, no one can possibly tell, as it darkens so naturally and evenly. You moisten a sponge or soft brush with it, drawing this through the hair, taking one small strand at a time. By morning the gray hair dis- appears; after another appli- cation or two its natural color is restored, and it becomes thick, glossy cnd lustrous, and you appear years younger. Corruption in politics, economic ine- | pr qualities, the great crime wave in the country, and lynching, which is the foul blot on our country, will all van- ish under the shadow of the cross and in the presence of real Christian and righteous endeavor."* The Council in resolutions deplored mob violence and urged Negroes to vote against statesmen who have op- posed a Federal law against lynching.
